Hi Tom,

Glad you found it useful. It is a nightmare shin splints. As are blisters! My present issue after buying new trainers and being slightly miss sold a few weeks ago.

When your playing hockey, when you run, is it in only short blasts, like five-a-side? If you're playing on astro, perhaps there's also football trainers that would work? Although I'm not sure they make them correctional either.

Do you need correctional trainers for short bursts like this?

I'd have thought perhaps regular correction trainers would work?

Hi Jonathan,

Great post as this is something I have suffered from and when I run too much I get it... I'll be sure to practice this and let you know how I get on.

I have got some "correction" trainers but not correction hockey astros so any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Cheers,

Tom

Yes, training with low reps will boost your myogenic tone. This means that your muscles will be denser and therefore look big and toned even when they're relaxed. However, every once in awhile it is beneficial to lower the weight and raise the reps. This will prevent your joints from being put under continous stress. So every four to six weeks lower the weight and increase the reps. Also do a search for Christian Thibaudeau his articles have greatly helped me
